Drifting - an acoustic guitar masterpiece

Here is a guitar piece called Drifting. It was written by Andy McKee, a great acoustic guitar player.

Click here if you want to watch it directly from the YouTube website.

Drifting is included in Andy McKee's third studio album Art of Motion. It was released in 2005.

This is what Andy said about this guitar song:

An early tune that I wrote shortly after dropping out of college. I wasn't quite sure where I was going with my life at the time, and the title reflects that. This tune was inspired by Preston Reed's playing, the left hand is over the top of the guitar neck throughout.
I think Andy McKee is becoming an inspiration for young acoustic guitar players.

The first time I saw this playing style was by a busker in Leicester Square, in London, in 1990. He was playing electric guitar with both the hands on the guitar neck, was very "piano" style, very impressive. This style, from who can manage it seems to enhance the fingerpicking. I have posted on my blog a video of a Swiss guy with italian name (Massimiliano Cona). He is very impressive too. Hope you will take a look. By the way, congratulation for your blog, I've added it in my feedreader :))
